HDR is where you bracket a photo with three exposures: one stop underexposed, one stop at the right exposure, and one stop overexposed. Then you lay the three images on top of each other. The idea is that underexposed image will bring out some detail in the sky and highlighted areas. The overexposed will bring out detail in the shadow.
I didn’t quite get the right exposures, because the whole image is a bit too dark. But you can see some drama forming in the sky.
